A cheerful chest of drawers, painted primarily in shades of red and turquoise - traditional colours of Rajasthan. The drawer fronts are fitted with simple brass ‘O’ ring handles. The back panel is painted a plain turquoise colour – the top and side panels are smothered in a wonderfully vibrant floral design. The interior is smartly finished in matt black. Made in India from sustainable mango wood. Quirky and unusual – this item is totally handmade and decorated in Rajasthan by skilled artisans, often working in family groups. Family elders hand down their knowledge, ensuring these traditional, centuries-old skills are not lost. The freehand intricate decoration ensures no two pieces are ever identical. Further information: Areas of natural grain appearing through the painted finish and ‘scuffing’ to the surface are generic to this type of decoration and should not be regarded as imperfections. Do not use spray polishes or furniture wax – dust using a soft, dry cloth only. Care: Should a spill occur wipe wood immediately with a dry cloth only.
