This chest will safely hold jewellery, craft or stationery items – the two long drawers are large enough to take pencils and pens. Made from sustainable mango wood and MDF, the wood is stained a rich, dark mahogany colour. The drawer fronts are individually hand painted and have simple brass ‘O’ ring handles. A circular painted floral motif decorates the top panel. This item is totally handmade and decorated in Rajasthan by skilled artisans, often working in family groups. Family elders hand down their knowledge, ensuring these traditional, centuries-old skills are not lost. The freehand intricate decoration ensures no two pieces are ever identical. Further information: Areas of natural grain appearing through the painted finish and ‘scuffing’ to the surface are generic to this type of decoration and should not be regarded as imperfections. Do not use spray polishes or furniture wax – dust using a soft, dry cloth only. Care: Should a spill occur wipe wood immediately with a dry cloth only.
