Our Buddhas are made in Bali by craftsmen working in community groups. The elders teach the youngsters – thus keeping the traditional carving skills alive. Each Buddha is totally handmade and unique. No two are identical, expect slight differences in style and facial expressions. Handmade in Bali and sourced by Present Company directly on an ethical basis. Small size approx 15cm high. As this is a totally hand made product dimensions may vary slightly. Exact colour/grain of wood also varies. Suar wood, (also locally known as "Rain Tree"), is a fast-growing durable hardwood. It is traditionally carved into decorative shapes; particularly animal and Buddha figures. Suar can be easily polished to a high sheen but takes great skill to carve, due to its very hard interlocking grain. To prevent colour transfer, please also take care not to sit the product directly on to carpet or any surface which may stain. Please note that these hand made carvings vary in size.
